John Steele
Mr. Steele has been a part of the information systems field for over 25 years. From 1969 to 1980 he held a number of technical and managerial positions with Eastern Air Lines, and was a key member of the development and implementation of the first IBM PARS airline reservations system. At Eastern, he served in computer operations, capacity planning, network design, and network administration. Typical of his accomplishments are the development of the world's first passenger self service system.

John served as Manager Systems Marketing for Racal Milgo Information Systems, a major communications equipment manufacturer, from 1980 to 1983. In this capacity, he was responsible for product planning, pricing, sales support, engineering, and development for the company's range of hardware and software network management products.

From 1983 to 1992, Mr. Steele held positions in communications network design and management, computer systems development, and research and development at Pan American World Airways, culminating as Systems Director, Communications Technology. Mr. Steele was the principal architect of Pan Am's "Airport Of The Future", the packet switch Data Transport Network and the PC-LAN based workstation system. John is an industry authority on airport automation and has been in the forefront of airline-airport information cooperation.

Throughout his career he has been a leader in airline industry communications standards and has chaired a number of standards committees of the International Air Transport Association (IATA) and the Societe Internationale de Telecommunications Aeronautiques (SITA).
