Since 1966 Mr. Jennings has held a number of positions in planning and analysis, Operations Research, and
financial control. He has had primary responsibility for manpower planning and staffing requirements for three
major US based international airlines and a hotel chain. In addition, for a period of ten years he was
president of a communications consulting firm specializing in manpower planning, facility requirements,
and management development.
Rod is a pioneer in applications of queuing theory in telephone systems, and is credited with developing the queuing algorithms still in use today in large ACD systems. He has successfully applied queuing theory and statistical analysis methods to a variety of other areas including airline crew scheduling and aircraft utilization and cost analysis. He has developed a number of specialized algorithms and procedures and successfully applied them to systems for agent manpower, service level requirements and cost/revenue analysis. He has had responsibility for the development of a complete room reservations system for a major hotel chain. In this capacity, he has directed the definition of computer hardware and software requirements, telephone systems and networks, service requirements and operational performance. His consulting firm created and conducted management and technical seminars in Statistics, Queuing Theory, Statistical Analysis, and Operations Research for a number of major international companies in transportation, communications, merchandising, and consumer services.
